How It All Began

Hello, Quilting Friends!
If you’ve already met Bingo, you already know that Bingo wasn’t just a storybook character. Bingo was a real little Wire Fox Terrier with an enormous personality, an adventurous spirit, and one very important rule—there had to be a quilt before cuddles could begin.
The adventures you’re about to read are inspired by that very real Bingo.
Some adventures began during our family walks through the Swiss countryside. Others grew from Bingo’s endless curiosity, his knack for finding mischief, or the way he seemed to make friends wherever he went. A few wandered straight into familiar fairy tales, where Bingo somehow felt perfectly at home.
Wherever Bingo’s adventures take him, there’s usually a quilt waiting somewhere along the way—sometimes as a picnic blanket, sometimes as a gift, sometimes as a treasured family heirloom, and occasionally as the very thing that brings people together.
Bill did his very best to keep Bingo safely in the garden, carefully checking the fence and mending it whenever he found a loose board. Somehow, though, Bingo always seemed to discover one little gap that promised another adventure.
Not every story happened exactly as you’ll read it here. Some are memories lovingly retold. Some begin with something that really happened before taking an unexpected turn. Others explore what might have happened if Bingo had met Heidi, Little Red Riding Hood, or the Three Bears.
One thing, however, is always true.
At the heart of every story is the same cheerful little Wire Fox Terrier who loved his family, loved exploring the world, and believed that every perfect day should end snuggled together beneath a quilt.
Whether you read these stories yourself, share them with children or grandchildren, or pass them along to a quilting friend, I hope they bring you a smile and remind you that the best adventures begin with curiosity, kindness… and someone you love beside you.
Welcome to Bingo’s world!
