Quilt-along With The Fox - Spring Flowers

Welcome to my new quilt-along. It is time to think about replacing the Winter Quilts with fresh, new and crispy Spring quilts.

We start on March 6, 2020. I will release the weekly instructions every Friday, so you can work on the quilt over the weekends.

Join the Quilt Along With The Fox Facebook page to download the weekly instructions and post your questions and photos.

Skill level: I recommend this pattern for intermediate quilters

Tools: no special tools needed, only rotary mat and rotary cutter, long and square ruler

Materials

There are 20 flowers in the quilt.

You need a 6" wide and WOF long strip for one flower.

  • If all 20 flowers are different, you need 20 strips. If you can buy a 20 strip 6" bundle precut that is perfect

  • From 10 different fabrics you need a 12" wide and WOF long strip from each.

  • 1 yard makes 6 flowers, so from yardage you need 3 1/3 yards

  • You can also use scraps, for one flower you need 4 squares 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and 4 rectangles 4 1/2" x 6"

  • Background fabric: 3 1/2 yards

For quilts with many colors, best to use coordinated prints or batiks.

My design features the Graceful Garden prints from Hoffman California's new Spring collections.

I collected a few spring color schemes for inspirations from Pinterest.
