I find the Southwest style timeless and beautiful. The main block in this quilt is inspired by a woven blanket made by a Native American woman named Myrtle. In honor of her craftsmanship, I named the block Myrtle’s Legacy.

My contemporary interpretation of the design is the Navajo Throw. It uses the same block as the original quilt, but in a larger size, and features a much more colorful palette for a bold, modern look.

The pattern includes:

  • Yardage requirements

  • Quilt layout and block dimensions

  • Cutting and piecing instructions

  • Sashing and quilt assembly guide

  • A link to my Animated Half-Square Triangle Tutorial on YouTube for easy HST construction

Please be sure to open the pattern with the latest version of Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader to display and print everything correctly. You can print the pattern in booklet format to save ink and paper. Templates and/or foundation papers have to be printed with “Actual size” printer settings.
