I find the Southwest style timeless and deeply beautiful. The main block in this quilt is inspired by a woven blanket made by a Native American woman named Myrtle. In honor of her craftsmanship, I named the block Myrtle’s Legacy.

My contemporary interpretation of the design is the Navajo Throw. It uses the same block as the original quilt, but in a larger size, and features a much more colorful palette for a bold, modern look.

The pattern includes:

  • Yardage requirements

  • Quilt layout and block dimensions

  • Cutting and piecing instructions

  • Sashing and quilt assembly guide

  • A link to my Animated Half-Square Triangle Tutorial on YouTube for easy HST construction
