The design is derived from classic "storm-at-sea" and "compass" motifs. I used various shades of blue to reflect deeper and shallower ocean depths. The quilt has a peaceful and calm feeling. A smaller version of this design was published in the AQ magazine in 2016.
The quilting of the compass in the center portrays stillness with the echoed straight lines. Towards the shore, quilted bubbles infiltrate the waves which frame the design at the edge.
The pattern contains the material requirements, making templates for the large pieces, actual size templates for the smaller pieces, piecing instructions, quilt assemble guide and quilting recommendations
